Cedar City Utah Home Renovation

A few months ago my wife and I purchased an older home near Southern Utah University.  We have done a few small home renovations but this was our biggest project of all.  We were intrigued by the location and the established neighborhood.  It’s challenging to find land near the University, so we took the bull by the horns and purchased this cottage that was in built in 1946.

Here is a “before” photo of the home.  The first thing we decided to do was pull out the entryway sidewalk, and remove the concrete stairs.  We felt the front elevation was boring and needed more dimension.

In order to accomplish our goal, we built front a porch with a sitting area.  We purchased our lumber at the Home Depot and made the railing out of conduit and wood.

After we finished the porch, we sealed it with Thompson water sealer.
